The end of November into the beginning of December brings the start of a wide array of enchanting Christmas Fairs and Markets, that are a wonderful opportunity to sample and buy local produce, craft work, Christmas Gifts and to take lunch.

The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon will transform the State Rooms of Highclere Castle to provide a unique shopping experience in aid of Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance and St Michaels & All Angels Church. This will be a festive occasion with our spectacular Christmas tree, carol singers, Christmas decorations and a variety of exciting stalls at which you can complete your Christmas shopping
For those who wish to see a little more of the Castle, there is the option to upgrade your tickets on the day. A suggested donation of £3 to the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance will allow you to view the magnificent Galleried Bedrooms. You may also upgrade your ticket for an additional £5 to explore the ‘Wonderful Things’ Egyptian Exhibition housed in the cellars of the Castle

With the summer coming to an end, thoughts are turning to Christmas and we are often asked how far in advance you should book Christmas tours and the answer is definitely now as all the popular tours sell out well in advance.

If you choose to spend less time exploring the market and shops, the will be a fully guided visit to the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral crowned with the tallest spire in Britain and built by medieval craftsmen back in the 13th Century. Salisbury probably has the finest medieval cathedral in Britain

See one of the only four surviving original texts of the Magna Carta in the Chapter House. The Magna Carta is one of the greatest constitutional documents of all times, showing the agreement reach between King John and his barons in 1215AD

Set in the picturesque streets surrounding Bath Abbey there couldn’t be a more perfect and magical setting for a Bath Christmas Market
Each year months are spent carefully hand picking this year’s selection of stallholders, so you can look forward to finding a wonderful variety of handmade and locally sourced gifts. This year there will be over 170 chalets and to keep stallholder offer fresh and exciting, 25% will be new to the market this year. 82% of our stallholders will be from Bath or the surrounding region and 76% of these stallholder’s products will be handmade

The first city in England to be designed an UNESCO World Heritage site; Bath earned the accolade for a reason! The city boasts the famous Roman Baths that inspired its name and beautiful Georgian architecture, from the 15th century Bath Abbey to the romantic Pulteney Bridge. Sitting on the slopes of the River Avon, it’s easy to see why Bath draws so many visitors each year

If you choose to spend less time exploring the market and shops, the will be a fully guided visit to the famous Roman Bath. The grand entrance to the Roman Baths is jaw-dropping, and you’ll pass through this amazing doorway to begin your visit. The Baths date back to 40AD and still flow with water from Britain’s only natural hot spring
