Staying for maybe a couple of weeks in London over Christmas means being away from home and the traditional Christmas Day with family and we are often asked for suggestions of alternative ways to spend the days over Christmas itself.

The most popular choice we see is to take 4 days away from London to visit Paris, particularly with the option to go to festive Disneyland.

Enjoy a four day tour over Christmas and take in the most exquisite sights of Paris. Cruise on the river Seine, see the Eiffel Tower in Xmas lights and shop in the famous Champs Elysées. Visit the Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, Cathedral of Notre Dame and explore the Louvre Museum with an optional day trip to Disneyland® Resort Paris for the Christmas parade and the stunning Palace of Versailles.


Day 1 

We start our four day tour on Christmas Eve departing from London St.Pancras International train station at 7:55am, arriving in Paris at 11:17am local time (please note high speed train journey is 2 hours 22 minutes, French time one hour ahead of UK time). Your guide will meet you at the station in London and accompany you for the full four day tour. On arrival in Paris we are collected by coach for a coach sightseeing tour (with photo stops) to see this stunning city with full Christmas decorations. At the end of the tour the coach will take us directly to our 3 star hotel right in the centre of Paris for check in. After check in the guide will accompany the group by metro to the Champs Elysees to see this beautiful city in Christmas lights!

Day 2 

After breakfast, meet the guide at 9am for a full day of sightseeing by Paris metro on Christmas Day. A truly amazing way to spend Christmas day – climb the Eiffel Tower, visit the Moulin Rouge, cruise the River Seine!! Our first stop is Montmartre for the Sacre Coeur, Place du Tertre and Moulin Rouge. Then on to Ille de la Cite and the world famous Notre Dame Cathedral, with time for lunch on the banks of the Seine. In the afternoon we take a boat cruise on the River Seine and a visit to the Eiffel Tower! See the Tower in Xmas lights.

Paris metro tickets not included in tour price, must be purchased on arrival in Paris Group Xmas Dinner – 3 course meal evening meal with wine for £39 per person. Celebrate Christmas with your fellow travellers!

Day 3 

A free day in Paris for sightseeing and shopping. Walk along the Champs Elysees, visit the famous departments stores at Opera, visit the world famous Louvre museum for your chance to see the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, Michelangelo’s Dying Slave or to follow the Da Vinci Code!


Optional extra – A full day trip to the world famous Disneyland® Resort Paris (£69 extra), a fairytale Christmas. Price includes coach travel to/from Disneyland Paris, and a Hopper Pass allowing full day entry to both parks, Disneyland Park Paris and Walt Disney Studios

Day 4 

A free morning in Paris for sightseeing and Shopping or:

Optional extra – Half day trip to the Palace and Gardens of Versailles – £39 (9am-1pm) – A fully guided half day coach tour to the stunning Palace and Gardens of Versailles. Built in the 17th century during the reign of Louis XIV to project the absolute power of the French monarchy, it served as the political capital and royal court for over 100 hundred years, until in 1789 the revolutionary mobs massacred the Palace Guard and dragged Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette to Paris to cut off their heads! Undoubtedly the grandest and most famous château in France. Price includes coach and entry to the Palace.

Return to Paris hotel after lunch, some final time for shopping before the coach collects us and transfers to Paris Gare du Nord train station to catch the 4:13pm high speed Eurostar train back to London, arriving in London 5:39pm UK time

Your accommodation is included in the price of your tour on a bed and breakfast basis. The price you pay is based on 2 people sharing a twin or double bedded room. (Please specify at the time of booking that you require a double, otherwise a twin room will be allocated as default). If you would like a single room for 1 person we offer an upgrade for £150 extra (£50 per night). Single travellers can avoid paying a single supplement by sharing a twin room with another person (of the same sex) . We arrange this service automatically, unless you select the single upgrade option when you are making your booking.

Day 2

Amsterdam, Rhine Cruise, Heidelberg

Travel via Arnhem to the Rhine Valley. Relax as you cruise along the River Rhine past terraced vineyards and medieval castles to St. Goar. Pass the famous Lorelei Rock, named after a mermaid who lured fishermen to their deaths with her mesmerising song. In Heidelberg, view the red sandstone castle, one of the most important architectural structures north of the Alps, which towers above Germany’s oldest university town.

Day 3

Rhineland, Scaffhausen, Lucerne (2 nights)

Day 4

Lucerne Orienatation and free time

Walk across the 14th century Chapel Bridge on your morning orientation. View the solemn Lion Monument, commemorating the massacre of Swiss Guards in 1792. Consider an excursion up a local mountain for panoramic views, or enjoy the fresh Alpine air by taking a leisurely walk beside the beautiful lake

Day 5

Lucerne, Burgundy, Wine region and Paris (2 nights)

See the changing landscape as you travel into France, through Alsace and across the Maginot Line. Continue through the Burgundy countryside – one of the country’s main wine producing regions, famous for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties. This evening you may decide to take an optional to see a famous Parisian Cabaret.

Day 6

Paris Sightseeing and free time

Your Local Guide shows you the sights, including views of Notre Dame Cathedral, the Champs Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe and the magnificent Opera House, designed by Charles Garnier and opened in 1875. Ascend to the second level of the Eiffel Tower by elevator and view the city in all its glory. Spend the afternoon as you wish. Perhaps take an excursion to visit the Louvre. Celebrate in the evening with your fellow travellers at a Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 7

Depart Paris
